The Chessmen of Mars

The story follows the adventures of Dejah Thoris, princess of Helium, and her husband John Carter, Warlord of Mars. The novel is set on the planet Mars, which is inhabited by a variety of creatures, including giant green men, four-armed white apes, and ferocious Martians.
