After an investigation at the London docks, Dr. Watson finds the famous detective, Sherlock Holmes, dying from a mysterious and deadly illness. While Holmes claims for the help of Mr. Culverton Smith, a strange figure and so-called expert in tropical diseases, the friendship and trust between the partners is tested, among suspicious of murder and betrayal.
