ABOUT THE ORIGINAL BOOK
"Mexican Gothic" by Silvia Moreno-Garcia follows Noemí Taboada as she travels to High Place, a mansion in the Mexican countryside, after receiving a disturbing letter from her newlywed cousin, Catalina. Catalina claims her husband is poisoning her and the house is filled with malevolent forces.
Noemí, a glamorous socialite, finds herself in a strange and oppressive environment as she investigates her cousin’s claims. The house is inhabited by the Doyle family, who are menacing and secretive. As Noemí digs deeper, she uncovers a dark history of madness, eugenics, and a mysterious illness. She experiences disturbing dreams and a growing sense of dread. Noemí races against time to save Catalina from the clutches of High Place and its inhabitants.
