ABOUT THE ORIGINAL BOOK

"Children of Blood and Bone" by Tomi Adeyemi is a young adult fantasy novel set in the land of Orïsha, inspired by West African mythology. The story follows Zélie, a young maji, as she embarks on a dangerous quest to restore magic to her people after it was brutally suppressed by the ruling King Saran. Faced with oppression and injustice, Zélie, along with her companions, confronts external enemies and internal struggles, challenging the oppressive regime and fighting for identity and resistance. The journey tests their loyalties, and forces them to make difficult choices that will determine the fate of Orïsha.
